Meet the Chefs
As chefs in the field we understand the importance of healthy, sustainable ingredients. We're dedicated to bringing culinary technique, wisdom & professionalism to those ingredients.
We believe that what you eat should not only be good for you but should taste great too!
Chef Wendy
Wendolynne Escobedo, chef & co-owner of Chefs Prep, began her restaurant career at the age of 15 as a busser & server. She realized her passion for cooking & quickly moved into the kitchen.
Wendy obtained a Culinary Arts degree at Brookdale Community College. While in school, she competed on a state & national level. She also began her professional cooking career in Asbury Park, NJ, with a focus on farm-to-table cuisine & local farm sustainability. She opened a farm-to-table cafe with a hydroponic greenhouse in 2014, which furthered her desire to explore urban farming.
Currently, Wendy’s emphasis is on supporting locally grown foods & high-quality seasonal menus, prepared fresh with unprocessed ingredients for healthy & nutritious meals.
She says, “I believe that wellness begins with what we put in our bodies!”
Chef Josh
Joshua Wiggins, chef & co-owner of Chefs Prep, found his passion for the culinary arts at a young age. His love for food, though, left him morbidly obese.
By eating clean & exercising, Josh was able to do what he never imagined possible: he lost over 100 pounds. He says, “I took my culinary knowledge & combined it with my love for creativity to eat a healthier diet that was still incredibly flavorful.”
While attending culinary school, Josh competed in NJ State Culinary Competition & took home the gold medal two years in a row. He recently competed on Food Network's Chopped. He wants to share his love for food, art & fitness with the world.
“I want to show people the amazing difference you can feel mentally & physically from a clean, healthy diet. I changed my life around. Let me be a part of changing yours!”
